Libbies Cry Over Libby!

libby.jpg

The whining will be enjoyable.  Be it Ann Coulter getting the goat of Elizabeth Edwards or Bush giving us a well-deserved payback from the horrible amnesty bill he concocted, this has been a great two weeks that displayed how easy it is to get liberals to lose focus on Elizabeth Edwards’ precious “issues” that she wants to stick to.

Just released by the Associated Press, Bush stated the following in explaining his decision to spare Scooter Libby pointless years in prison:

“I have concluded that the prison sentence given to Mr. Libby is excessive. Therefore, I am commuting the portion of Mr. Libby’s sentence that required him to spend thirty months in prison.”

This is what we elected him for.  To make decisions that require real balls.

  1. True that we elected the President to make decisions that require *balls* as you say- but he still hasn’t grown a pair in regards to illegal immigration.

If he is such a compassionate conservative (and I despise that term, btw) then why isn’t he more concerned with being compassionate to the AMERICAN TAXPAYER that is footing the bill for food-stamps, medical care, and other government services that ILLEGALS are using?

I am glad, however that he did what he did in reference to Libby; However, he should have been pardoned. This whole series of events was a witch hunt.

  2. Shawmut,

I too would have expected a pardon. Heard in legal circles, “fruit of the poisonous tree”, I would have to suggest that the very roots of the tree in this case was poisoned.
I’d love to see the expense report of the double-dipping ex-diplomat who was pimped by his wife to George Tenet to take the trip to gather un-vetted intelligence.
When is her perjury trial? When is her ‘Contempt of Congress’ hearing? (BTW: Her neighbors knew for whom she worked.)
However, I’m always amazed how a guy, the President, with his foot in his mouth can managed to say anything, let alone too much.
Remember, Libby didn’t violate national security. Mr. and Mrs. Plame did.
Libby testified without his calendar before him and he was called on an item on it.
Let’s see do you recall if you wrote a shopping memo in blue or black ink on ..day..mo..yr.?

  3. Shawmut,

Yes, I meant to say Mrs. and Mr. Plame (not Wilson).

  4. Devil Dog,

Funny, liberals screaming about Obstruction of Justice!

    Hmmm, why now?

  5. Steve,

LOL at both Shaw and Devil!
