I love this. An activist gay-lesbian association actually speaking out against GLAAD and its back-stratching relationship with liberals.
Bill Richardson uttered an anti-gay slur and GLAAD has decided to do nothing.
If it was Dr. Laura Schlessinger or Ann Coulter of course, they would be ready to close them down, rip away their sponsors, and ban their books.
Another example of how GLAAD hurts the community more than it helps.

I guess the slur was an element of real life of ‘Stockholm Syndrome” (acceptance of abuse to the point of loyalty to the abuser). On the other hand should Richardson end up on the Democrat ticket they will just ‘have to’ (read: ‘liberal imperium’) support him.
It’s a good thing it wasn’t general or a cabinet member or someone like that.
I’ve stumbled across your website and I must say, you’re awesome. In our current society I think it’s extrodinary when someone decides to think for themselves rather than let the rest of the world decide for them just because of their charateristics, traits, personality, religious beliefs, etc.
In a time when their are a few Republican’s pulling away from the party and thinking differently and for themselves, we have yet to see one Democrat do the same. They are either desperate for the vote or completely brain-washing, you decide. All I have to say is, good for you, you kick ass! I’ll be checking back because I, like you, come from a huge family of Dems and I’m a Republican. Yikes! They would have preferred that I be gay! PS – that last sentence was NOT an insult rather a jab at the rediculousness of my family not accepting me for who I am and what I believe. It’s something I deal with daily!
Well you might not come from Dems but you had to “come out” to your family/community twice! I only had to do it once. It was terrible! That’s what I was referring to…
Nicole! Welcome aboard!
Please visit us again. We have quite a fun little community here.
And you are absolutely right. The gay part never bothers people. It’s the Republican part that frightens them.
LOL
YES! Nicole Do come back! Steve Is AWESOME! I too stumbled upon him last year and have been here ever since!
Screw GLAAD. Who cares what they do?
Richardson said something dumb. He’s done it before, and he will undoubtedly do it again. He’s Joe Biden-light. But he is also the most pro-business, pro-liberty Democrat in the field — I would think someone who was both gay and conservative could appreciate the relatively moderate Richardson, who, despite his lapse here, is very good on equal-rights issues for gays.
I will add that libertarianism is the only political philosophy that treats homosexuals as INDIVIDUALS, and not as members of a group; that respects gays and lesbians as human beings who deserve full equality under the law, as per the 14th amendment; and the Libertarian Party is the only political party that has consistently defended the equal rights of gay people as individuals, and not “special rights” as a collectivist group.
Smith, saying that N Korea desired to attempt to nuke the world just because GW Bush called him “evil” is certainly not a moderate position. It’s an insane one – Richardson either really is that crazy or he’s trying to white-wash Clinton’s responsibility for it by immediately blaming Bush. Richardson has a long line of comments like this. He appeals to the leftists as any other liberal does by trying to pat the backs of the gay community. It really is no different with Howard Dean or John Edwards. Gays means “votes” and that’s it. Richardson is not losing sleep at night worrying about my rights.
I have always believed that “libertarian” basically meant “not crazy enough to be a liberal” and not “tough enough to be a Republican.”
The 14th amendment does not mention marriage as a civil right – sorry. Republicanism protects the gay community with its tough stance against crime and is friendly to our wallets with its policy for low taxes.
Party affiliation to the whole gay-marriage thing is preposterous. This is a people issue, and if the people aren’t goign to vote for it in a Democracy, it will never be, parties need to stop using it for 15-minute popularity contests.
