It’s no surprise to me that activist types and those out there who make being gay 99% of what makes them up as a human beings will avoid having to come up with logical debate techniques other than “you’re stupid” or “you’re a Nazi” to make their point. After all, these are liberal-gay men we’re talking about here. But you would think that the ones crying the hardest for gay rights would avoid using “you’re gay” as an insult.
In this hilarious piece of journalism, Mark Segal of Philadelphia Gay News decided to pen a column citing anonymous sources that declare Ann Coulter as being a lesbian. Okay, fine. So, we are declaring that Ann Coulter might be gay, do you have a follow-up point?
Apparently not. Unless of course talking about the use of sex toys can be considered a legitimate political argument that is going to strengthen the path to gay rights in this country.
This is one of those activist-types that I warn the gay community about. They begin their articles with a flaming title “Mark My Words” (probably with a hand on his hip and following up with “gurrrrlfriend”) and immediately begin the attack by labeling their subject (Ann Coulter) as someone who is homophobic.
He then mentions Coulter’s “support” of Mary Cheney’s baby, only to further it with more insults:
“Ms. Coulter’s support of Mary Cheney’s new baby should not be confused with the idea that she wishes to become just another pregnant lesbian herself. She rejected that path after numerous attempts with the turkey-baster method. And like the vice president’s daughter, she does not believe in the new domestic-partners legislation legalizing lesbian marriages, and therefore does not wish to give birth to a bastard — many of course would say like the child’s mother.”
To begin with, Mary Cheney is an advocate for gay rights, as she has mentioned over and over again. But see, to insane liberal-activists like Mark Segal, casting your vote while keeping in mind that there are other issues out there to be dealt with such as terrorism is a completely self-loathing and homophobic thing to do.
I only wonder why he didn’t attack Tammy Bruce in this column? We know that she is gay, supports the President’s war policies, owns a gun, and simutaneously supports progressive rights. At least he would have had a solid start.
If Ann Coulter is straight, I know that she doesn’t hate me. If Ann Coulter is gay, I welcome her to the land of gay conservatives that recognize the true damage that idiot activist types like this are doing to our community.

i dont think sexual preference should matter in a political debate. but, i guess alot of folks out there think it does. to me it’s almost like, i dunno. say like sports. i’m not into sports, say the guy i’m debating is a big time fan of sports. i dont mind that, to me it has nothing to do with running the country, but one of my buddies is a big sports fan, and i think if a president didnt like his team, this guy wouldn’t vote for him. it’s crazy. he’s a broncos fan. and anyone who isn’t doesn’t know anything. i always tell him, whether we debate christianity, politics, anything, it’s like. i dunno. the broncos have nothing to do with it, but i can’t tell him that. he wont talk to me for a month. sorry, i’m rambling.
Well the point is that liberals would use “being gay” as an insult to a conservative. Particularily one who always gets under their skin.
I’d prefer they come up with something better.
that’s like someone coming up to me and saying, well you’ve got tattoos. i’d be like “yup” and…
just like with my buddy right now who isn’t talking to me. i was on the phone with him a few days ago, and because i dont like sports, i obviously have no idea what’s going on. it’s absurd. when someone does hat, that just means they are getting off the subject and trying to hurt your feelings. it shows that they will resort to low blows because they dont want to hear what you have to say without them being right and you being wrong, i guess. you have out-debated me almost every time, and i’ve never thought of using some stupid… whatever it is… insult. that’s the word. and you’ve never insulted me. if you’ve been to my blog, you can see i’m a felon, i can’t even vote. you’ve never used that against me.
Actually you know what Steve, I would agree with what you said in the comment above. That’s why i’ve a;ways been against outing for anyone, even if their voting record does damage to the cause.
I’m not concerned about their “feelings”, they’ve made their bed, but what I am concerned with is what does outing say? It says gay is bad, otherwise it wouldn’t be an intimidation technique.
Al,
I’ve always thought it was fascinating how most liberals refer to her as “Mann Coulter” or call her a tranny.
I mean, think about it. For 5 minutes, they are willing to make being a transexual a bad thing and shine the hugest spotlight of shame onto the entire GLBT community — when it better attacks Ann Coulter. LOL, that makes it okay, then.
And Daredevil you said:
“that just means they are getting off the subject and trying to hurt your feelings.”
You’re right. My rant isn’t about defending Ann Coutler. She’s a pretty tough girl and has handled much worse than this (coming from much smarter liberals by the way). My problem is with the fact that he used “being gay” as an insult to someone.
Bear in mind, he’s writing for a progressive gay-rights web site.
Daredevil,
It sounds like you are the real deal, the Americans that have a common sense that transcends political lines.
I, for one, was a critic of the President’s plan for immigration, but I would be hard pressed to find a liberal who will ever say anything critical of their party, much less Bill Clinton. They are the party of excuses.
I would like to know if you have a link to your blog. I would like to check it out.
I’m sorry you can’t vote, but I am sure that you can put a few dollars toward the candidate that you feel supports your views. Today, your money can almost replace your vote.
Just an idea, and if you could give me the link to your blog, that would be cool.
no problem devil dog.
daredevil92103.wordpress.com
i dont know if thats a link or not, i new at this stuff, but thats my site.
ahh, it’s my own fault i can’t vote, and it’s alright. i do try to see from as many views as i can see. my site is mainly what people would call conspiracy theory stuff. it’s just stuff that most folks dont know about that makes me very worried. see, i never was much into politics, but lately i’ve sensed something very very bad coming. most stuff on my site is just articles copied. really long, drawn out stuff. i guess i try not to fit into either liberal or conservative sides, just because i think most of the time they just do it all for show, they never really get to the real issues. right now i’m studying up on the 9/11 thing, because i figured out that on this one issue, it seems like the whole foundation of the direction we are going as a country. i mean, if the government did lie to us, then all this stuff, this war, the rights i feel are being taken, points to something VERY, VERY bad. and i feel like it is going to get worse really soon.
and steve i agree with you 100% on the gay thing. i guess most folks say liberals are for this, and conservatives are for this and against that, blah blah, ya know? but stereotyping “liberal”, “gay”,” felon”, “conservative”, this is just ways people used to make judgments on people without ever really listening to the person. i mean, once someone is seen one way, then everthing they say or do is viewed with that “filter” so to speak.
i hope i’m making some sense, i ramble a lot. you guys really help me though, not only to see other points of view, but you help me clarify my own. that’s the greatest thing about debate.
p.s. i think clinton was just as bad as bush is, just in a different way, yet they both are leading to the same goal. i think both parties actually are trying for the same thing, essentially.
Bravo, Daredevil.
I also believe both parties are for the same thing, but sometimes they want to go in their own direction and not what the American people want, although, I do not believe in polls and instant questionnaires to people.
Sometimes, a poll doesn’t know what is right to do versus what is wrong.
i agree. i still believe that it should be a representative government, i just think that if the wrong people are in there, then our best interests will not be looked after.
