The “Benign” Take Off

dems.jpg

It was only a matter of time, and it was right here where my site-partner, Philip predicted the Democrats’ direct blame of the Minnesota bridge collapse on Bush and the Iraq war spending.

“So far, it’s been fairly benign, but wait til the Congressional investigations open up.  These idiots will have a heyday with this one.  They’ll ignore the fact that the state of Minnesota had a $2 billion+ surplus.  They’ll ignore the fact that spending of federal funds for highway and interstate repairs and projects (which account for the overwhelming majority of transportation funds used by states nationwide) are mostly left to the discretion of each respective state.”

Apparently, the “benign” has taken off.

The AP tonight reports:

CHICAGO – Democratic presidential candidates said Tuesday the nation should invest more money in infrastructure and less in the Iraq war, citing the Minneapolis bridge collapse as a symptom of neglect.

It was only a matter of time.  I’m surprised they waited this long to exploit the tragedy of real American victims as a platform for boring speeches.  Did Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton stop their campaigns to visit the area?

This was not a money issue.  Minnesota Democrat, Amy Klobuchar already took her potshot by making a preliminary attack against the President and directing attention to the money spent in Iraq.

I have news for the bridge-choir.  Democrats only care about the infrastructure issues after something like this happens.  Moreover; Minnesota is spending millions of dollars currently for a new sports stadium.

good to see you, too. i haven’t blogged much this week, it seems.

  4. Devil Dog,

Well, it seems that Hillary has said today that President Bush is to blame for the problems of black in the inner cities of the U.S.

Hmmm, President Bush is everywhere. I’m amazed that he is soooo stupid, yet so responsible.

    Amazing!

  5. daredevil92103,

nah, he’s not stupid. i don’t think he’s stupid at all. he’s also not the cause of every problem.
hillary would be no better. if there is a next election, i would advise vote republican. see, to me this republican/ democrat stuff, is just a distraction, an easy way to kind of stereotype a persons beliefs. to me, it is more about the individual. i don’t trust bush. that does not mean that he is completely evil or anything. clinton was bad, too. so was bush senior, and in my opinion, aside from W., reagan was the worst president we had in my lifetime.
