It’s George Bush’s fault!
“Sadly, the CIA’s 9/11 accountability review serves as a sobering reminder that the Bush Administration policies for the past six years have failed to capture or kill Osama bin Laden”
That is what West Virginia Democrat, Jay Rockefeller had to say in response.
Every major news agency is reporting this tonight. Basically it gives up everything we already knew:
–During the Clinton administration, we knew (or “suspected”) that Al-Queda wanted to attack us. Some called this clever CIA intelligence, others were tipped off by the various attacks that Clinton did nothing about during his administration.
–From 1998-2001, the CIA refused to do enough to track Al-Queda’s every move to keep us safe here in America. (But at the same time, liberals would not have allowed us to throw suspicious Arabs out of the country, profile them at airports, or create a Patriot Act back then.) Democrats cry over the Patriot Act post 9/11, we are supposed to believe they would have supported the CIA taking more serious measures in monitoring Al-Queda before it happened? Would liberals have supported NSA wiretappings before 9/11?
Suffice it to say that with liberal policies and crazy rules and regulations delivered by them to the CIA along with the fact that most of this “pre-9/11″ surveillance occurred during the Clinton administration, I can see why liberals could blame this on George Bush.
The article goes on to clearly state:
“Yet the review team led by Inspector General John Helgerson found neither a “single point of failure nor a silver bullet” that would have stopped the attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people.”
So in conclusion we had a planning and tracking phase that the CIA could basically do nothing about thanks to half-baked liberal policies, a President in the White House who refused to do nothing in response to the largest number of attacks on America’s interests since it all began in 1979, and a report that basically tells us: they could have done stuff, but in the end none of it would have done any good anyway!
And Jay Rockfeller says this is a reminder of Bush’s policies that have kept us safe since 2001?
I swear, if they could get away with it they would find a way to blame George W. Bush for the stain on Monica’s dress.

Comments
Rocky should recall that the Clintons’ first Director, CIA, was totally ignored by the White House. The second, John Deutsch, came over from DOD via Sandwich Burglar and Tony Lake (like leak) with an Amazon associate that ran through the agency with with stilletoes (in hand and on feet) with the goal of neutering the veterans that were bringing the novices along. Tenet came from the same personnel source (congessional committees’ staffers). Shall we raise the issue of a few others like Mary McCarthy, etc.
The Democrats did what they couldn’t do during Carter – destroy the CIA. “Stansfield Turner, Admiral, PhD, Stuffed Shirt (Emeritus), killed off the essential human intelligence program and thus US intelligence integrity in the world-wide internecine intelligence community. (It takes six to ten years to cultivate an intelligence asset; sighting, recruiting, vetting, assuring welfare for assets and those who suffer collateral risks {family}). Turner waved a wand and – poof! Deutsch et al. shouted PC and the halls of White Hall, Lubyanka and Lefotorvo, Tel Aviv roared. (The politely muffled snickering was deafening.) So Rocky challenges a dysfuntional agency that was rended so by his fellow political hackerama.
Without federal jobs the above cited would by filling no-show jobs at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Aurthority.
Now if we get into procedures of inter- and intra-agency communications……..
Well, Shaw it’s no secret that we have one of the worst Intelligence agencies in the world. But one party is responsible for that.
The preposterous part to me is that this is linked to Bush and his alleged “failing” policies.
The last time I checked it is precisely what he is doing that the CIA could not do because of Democrats….thus their incessant whining about it all now — the Patriot Act, NSA wiretapping, etc.
Great elaboration!
Not to be contradictory, Steve, but intelligence apparati, no matter what country, must have principled leadership. Consider the NBA, NFL, NHL, etc; the teams, the men and women doing the job, like those in uniform, are conditioned and competetent .The CIA, NSA, FBI, ..XYZ… have suffered from political prostitution at the top…(a self-indemnifying problem – try putting the tooth-paste back in the tube).
Today we are sub-contracting our intelligence efforts out. (Contracts – budgets – lobbyists – congressional oversight – earmarks… These terms ring bells?) Try matching the dollar inside the gates of Langley against the dollar out on the Beltway. Let’s hope we won’t see it being paid by magic carpet pilots in Herndon, VA representing the Saudi Public Health Directorate.
All you need to point out is the fact that Bill Clinton had Osama bin Laden offered to him by the government of the Sudan. In fact, Clinton had numerous attempts to take custody or capture bin Laden.
Nevertheless, the Clinton administration either failed to the offers and the intelligence, or they simply refused outright. The LA Times printed an article in 2001 by Mansour Ijaz who was involved in these negotiations over bin Laden. Interesting read.
Like I said – all you should have to do is point this out to liberals. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to do any good. I can’t quite understand why.
Bush wasn’t responsible for the stain? Good one, Steve
I’m telling ya, they would if they could.
Let’s remember, the Left is indifferent to any crisis other than their own power.
Do I believe they’d let blood run in our streets to suit their ‘ghoul politics’ or raise their ‘misery index’? Yes, I do.
Do I believe they’d skew intelligence for the sake of embrassing their opponents (no matter how much blood is spilled)? Yes, I do.
Do I think they consider ..no believe … themselves above the laws of this country? I do.
Their ideal world would be one of moral equivelancy and elastic ethics…provided they’re in control. They have just about subjugated the country to such absurd political correctitude that we have become a nation of people afraid of ourselves.
When they take pride in losing the war in Vietnam (which they do), why don’t they take pride in losing the “War on Poverty” (which they have) that thier “Great Society” was going to realize? (After all, what was Lyndon Johnson all about, but power. Should they deny him (which they do), they deny their heritage. (Should they civil rights issue come up re LBJ ask them to cite the collective authorship.)
