Actually I think we hear about it when both parties are caught. The only difference is with the MSM, we tend to hear more from the Republicans mishaps than from the Dems.

Moreover; we don't re-elect ours.

But you're right, he's announcing his resignation tomorrow.

Larry just needs to step aside. I'm so tired of all of this, but I also know that the MSM wouldn't pursue Dems as much as they pursue us. Sorry to sound like a conspiracist, but that's just how it is.

This whole sordid event needs to go away quickly. It distracts from reality. The Dems used Foley to help themselves in 2006. I'm sure that they are just devastated that they couldn't save this one til October 2008.

People live, people sin. Craig got caught. Let's move on. It happens to people of both parties. The difference is - we only hear about it when it's a Republican.

Oh you are absolutely right.

I think it's a crucial time for either party and Craig needs to step down until something else can absolutely be proven otherwise.

But here's my "suspicion" and I don't mean to sound like a 9/11 crazy but:

Last year in October of 2006, Mike Rogers (the nut in the photo for this post) was on all sorts of TV programs outing gay politicians. His argument of "hypocrisy" is that a lot of them vote against "gay rights." He has been after Craig since then as well....

You will see that hotair reported this in the link I provide above.

Now, if you go to the nut's webpage, you see there....he acknowleges a full desire to bring down "Republicans" by outing them. There he has a list of supposedly outed Republicans as well.

There wasn't many "big names" on his list and I almost feel as if he was obsessing about Craig (a U.S. Senator) since then. Thus, something came about from all this and now he is REALLY reporting it.

I feel like he had something to do with this. He's been falsely alleging things for an entire year. If it comes about though that he had something to do with the cop, I think he needs to be brought down himself.

If you listen to the tape made available to the public, in my opinion, the cop seems overly indignant and persistent in trying to get him to admit something while simultaneously reminding him that "admitting it" will fix it all so he could send him on his way.

I just wouldn't be surprised is all I am saying. If indeed he is innocent, whoever is responsible needs to pay and someone has to care enough to find out the real truth because even though he has to step down now, people can't get away with destroying someone's reputation.

Really, I do tend to more agree with you on this than disagree, Steve. And I do believe that this particular gentlemen is doing things that are borderline illegal in his stalking. And I don't think that disagreeing with GLADD's agenda makes someone fair game for an outing.

I think, though, that the reason I'm less than upset about Craig's outing is that he plead guilty. And other than the cop's statement, there wasn't enough evidence for anything. He said/he said won't get far in a criminal court.

There seems to be more fire there than the smoke let us to believe, imho. And I don't think the people of Idaho would have voted for him if they knew he was soliciting potty sex.

He's just slimy, and I believe that he needs to go.

Then again, I'm beginning to believe that we have no chance in hell of getting a politician in national office with anything at all resembling a value system that they uphold in their own personal life.

I suppose airforce that would depend on what would qualify as someone with an "anti-gay" persona.

If you mean running around screaming that gays were going to burn in hell and deserved to get AIDS, then yeah -- maybe. But if it means someone who politically votes against gay marriage, then I disagree.

The people are deciding on these issues and Larry Craig represents the people of Idaho who by in large do not support gay marriage. Moreover; it is possible for someone to be gay and disagree with the loons' agendas over at GLADD.

He's a mess though --- and we need to get rid of him.

But this crazy fella I mention here is just as messy.

And then there is Perez Hilton, who works hard to out celebrities who are merely trying to keep their sexuality out of the public conversation, like Jody Foster.

I'm not sure what is up with the forced outing. The world really doesn't care anymore, barring some sort of hypocrisy in the action (like the preacher who was caught in the act while preaching death and destruction to all gays). It just. doesn't. matter. And the amount of public attention to someone's sex life should be judged by the individual and their own actions, not by someone who managed to get a domain name and blogging software.

So, if Jody Foster and her partner were having Britney moments, that would be one thing, but absent that, I just don't see the need to jump on the vengeful outing bandwagon.

On the other hand, I CAN kind of see the point of "outing" someone like Craig who is seen as a anti-gay persona. Not that I condone stalking by any means, I can see the basis for the hypocrisy charges, though.

First of all, I’m a man of color. Being of Mexican ancestry and in spite of fact I didn’t grow up in South Texas were the bigotry towards people of my ethnicity was beyond comprehension, I’ve had my share of racism. I could tell you right now this man is not doing me any favors as a gay man. Neither are gay pride events and why I’m not too excited when they occur, but that another long drown out story.

I could tell everyone right now; I’ve experienced more racism and stereotyping from liberals than conservatives. White liberals want to say they love people of color but they don’t want us to live anywhere near them. The conservative are naive about my ethnicity at least there honest and ask questions. Liberals on the other hand make assumptions and become insulting in the process.
