Bizarre Things In Austria

This has absolutely nothing to do with politics, but I found this fascinating and very weird.  Here’s the story…

An Austrian woman says she was kept prisoner and abused by her own father for 24 years in a basement dungeon in eastern Austria, where she bore him six children, Austrian police said on Sunday…..

She told police her father Joseph lured her into the basement of their house in the town of Amstetten in 1984, and drugged and handcuffed her before locking her up……

The woman said Joseph provided her and three of her children, who were locked up with her, with clothing and food.

Ok.  Plausible.  Stranger and more perverse things have happened in this twisted world.  BUT HERE’S THE KICKER….

His wife Rosemarie had not been aware of what was going on.

WHAT????  How the hell do you not know that your daughter and her kids fathered by your own husband  were locked in the basement for decades????  I nearly choked on that one.

I have to be missing something here.  It’ll be interesting to see all the facts.  I’m really intrigued by the fact that this lady was kept in the basement for 24 years.  And what about the other 3 kids?  The article only mentions 3 in the basement, but said she had 6 kids.  And who delivered these kids????

The wife of this perv must be a vegetable or something.  Or maybe this basement was detached from the house.  Or maybe this is all made up to cover an incestuous relationship.  I have no clue. This is one of the most bizarre things I have ever heard.

Update:  More of the story is starting to come out now.  I figured it would.  But there are a whole lot of questions still unanswered.  There is some speculation that the old man didn’t act alone.  I tend to wonder how he could have acted alone without suspicion.  Regardless, I still don’t understand how his wife could not have known something.  She’s receiving psychiatric attention now.  Everyone in this case needs it.  This is the most bizarre thing I think I have ever seen or heard.  And I guarantee that there is more to come.  We don’t know everything yet.

Nip it In The Bud…..NOW

It’s no secret-  I’m supporting John McCain for President.  The list of things that McCain has done to make me squirm is long, but I still believe that he is the best bet to secure any sort of GOP relevance.  Congress seems to poised to go left this election cycle.  Winning the White House is a better prospect than gaining on the Dems in the House or Senate.

Having said that, let me offer Senator McCain a little advice:  GROW SOME BALLS DUDE!  Seriously.  His pledge to keep the general election campaign civil is admirable, but his reaction to the North Carolina GOP’s ads that bring up Obama’s buddy, “Reverend” (in the loosest sense of the word) Jeremiah Wright is inane.  Why would he object to Republicans running an ad that exposes Obama’s ties to this extremist, anti-American, anti-Semitic, reverse-racist, former Muslim, un-Christian demagogue?

Anyone who brings this up is automatically labaled a “racist.”  The Obama campaign (true to Bill Clinton’s assertion) will play the race card any chance they get.  This presidential campaign will be interesting if it is Obama vs. McCain.  Anything McCain might say is “racist.”

Peter Wehner points out in the NRO that the connections to Wright are not racist at all.

But the ad in question doesn’t mention race anywhere; rather, it includes a clip of Reverend Wright’s incendiary words. Wright happens to be black — but his race is not the reason he’s in the ad. His words are — and if Wright were white, his words and picture would still be used.

Exactly.  If some white Southern Baptist minister said “God damn America” he would be excoriated.  Why is it any different when a black man says it?  Why the double standard?

Wehner continues…

It doesn’t help matters, of course, when Senator McCain asserts the ads are “unacceptable” and worth “repudiating.” Senator McCain never explains why, perhaps because the ads merely quote Reverend Wright, whom Obama spent 20 years worshiping under and developed a close personal relationship with. Does McCain believe those who are concerned about Obama’s association with Wright are acting against the spirit of Lincoln, TR, and Ronald Reagan (who himself was falsely accused of racism by liberals countless times)?

John MCain needs to show some fortitude and recognize reality.  He needs to understand that Barack is an extreme liberal with extremist friends.  If he divorces himself from that reality, then he deserves to lose.  Obama is the most dangerous presidential candidate since George McGovern.  His buddies like Wright and Ayers speak to his character.  Obama is a radical, and he is waiting to run this nation into the ground.

If any of you who profess to be Republicans are thinking about sitting out this election or casting a protest vote, be warned.  We are on the verge of electing the most liberal, inexperienced, elitist president ever.  The damage that Obama will do will eclipse anything that Jimmy Carter ever imagined.

You can whine about John McCain and his positions all you want, but when push comes to shove, his 83% ACU rating will beat the hell out of the radical agenda of Obama.  Sorry if your guy didn’t win the GOP nomination (mine didn’t), but we have business to address.  And our business is to keep Obama and his radical associates from running this nation (and destroying it).

Escaping the Sean “Bell” Jar

Since the judge’s decision this morning to rightfully acquit the officers who shot Sean Bell, I have been anticipating all of the left-wingers running out (particularly those who are supporting Obama) and playing the race card.  Much like the death of Jerry Falwell where his name always followed “whether you agreed with him or not” we hear the same regurgitated prelude to the point of Bell’s death: “Just before he was married, Sean Bell was tragically killed by a round of 50 bullets.”

It’s a fact that Bell and his two friends were having a bachelor party the night of the shooting.  It’s a fact that witnesses heard his thug-friend; Joseph Guzman yell “yo, get my gun!”  It’s a fact that Sean Bell had been arrested previously for crack-cocaine possession.  It’s a fact that Guzman and Trent Benefield (the other thug-friend) had been arrested “nine and three times, respectively” and each having at least one of them for illegal possession of firearms.  (Where are the gun-control liberals, incidentally?)

It’s a fact that Bell and his friends refused to obey police orders and “freeze” choosing to speed off while incredibly intoxicated plowing into a police vehicle in pursuit of their getaway.

It’s a fact that unto approaching the car of thugs, police testify that Guzman made a gesture that led them to believe he was reaching for a gun.

Now, let’s throw all those facts out the window.

Let’s recharacterize “after getting trashed and flirting with prostitutes, yelling “yo, get my gun!”, disobeying police orders to “freeze”, violently driving into a police vehicle while grossly intoxicated, and making a phony gesture which led police to believe Guzman was reaching for a gun, police shot Sean Bell which tragically ended his life” to “police shot and killed Sean Bell 50 times the day before his wedding.”

To all the race-card playing, Obama-supporting, Reverend Wright-Al Sharpton imitating liberals of the world, escape the “Bell” jar already.

Rather than suing the NYPD, Bell’s family should bring a civil suit against Joseph Guzman and may want to raise the rest of their children to avoid selling crack-cocaine and hanging around gun-toting criminals.

It just gets more and more scary….

Bush v. Gore: “Get Over It!”

This is why we love Justice Antonin Scalia.  In an interview for CBS “60 Minutes” which will air Sunday, he tells the woman interviewing him to “Get Over It!” after she proclaimed that many believe that the decisions of the courts were “not based on judicial philosophy but on politics” where Scalia brilliantly replied “I say, nonsense.”

Scalia also reminded her that it was indeed Al Gore that turned it from a matter of “Democracy” to a matter that was decided on by the courts, not George W. Bush.  He also pointed out that the vote was democratically voted on within the courts 7-2.

It was Al Gore who made it a judicial question.  It was he who brought it into the Florida Courts.  We didn’t go looking for trouble.  It was he who said “I want this to be decided by the courts” and what were supposed to say? ‘No, not important enough?’

Oh if we could get one more Supreme Court nominee before November, how beautiful would life be.

“Frivolous Lawsuit” Defined

This one is strange and a little on the humorous side.  A couple of Chinese citizens have decided to file suit against CNN for comments that they and their government deemed offensive.

A Chinese primary school teacher and a beautician have filed a suit against CNN in New York over remarks they say insulted the Chinese people and are seeking $1.3 billion in compensation — $1 per person in China, a Hong Kong newspaper reported.

The case against the Atlanta-based cable channel, its parent company Turner Broadcasting and Jack Cafferty, the offending commentator, comes after 14 lawyers launched a similar suit in Beijing alleging that Cafferty’s remarks earlier this month violated the dignity and reputation of the Chinese people.

Wow -  pretty hefty and, I think, unprecedented.  So what, pray tell, was the offense that was uttered and caused such a backlash?

Cafferty said the United States imported Chinese-made “junk with the lead paint on them and the poisoned pet food” and added: “They’re basically the same bunch of goons and thugs they’ve been for the last 50 years”.

This baffles and befuddles me for two reasons.  #1:  I can’t believe that a CNN commentator would actually make such an un-PC claim that would speak to the absolute truth of a matter.  #2:  I can’t believe that anyone, even in China, would be offended by the obvious truth.

Of course, on #2, I guess I can sort of understand.  PC types in this nation are offended by the truth quite frequently.  I guess that I am more amazed that a CNN commentator would actually get one right for once.

Obama’s Terror Connection: What Would Reagan Say?

On Obama’s part, Alan Colmes manages to think that this is not a “big political problem.”  The topic at hand: Obama’s relationship/friendship with former terrorist and founder of The Weathermen leftist-radical group in the late 60′s.  The group was founded in opposition to the Vietnam War.  And what better way to protest a war than by bombing the United States Capitol, The Pentagon, and the Harry S. Truman building within a span of a few years.

Incidentally, what has come about of the bombing in Times Square a few months ago?

Back to Obama: let’s review his friendships with a few random folks. There’s Reverend Jeremiah Wright who said in response to 9/11: “God bless America… No!… God Damn America”, and also said in regard to HIV and the United States Government:”[t]he government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color.”  These are accompanied by dozens of other black-power, blame the white-man sentiments.  Obama confirmed his admiration for Reverend Wright by personally thanking him in the same book raved about by Oprah.

Then, there’s his personal friendship and ties with Tony Rezko.  As we all know, Obama scored a sweet real-estate deal with Rezko in 2006.  Rezko is currently on trial for fraud, money-laundering, bribery, and attempted extortion.  Here, Obama admits this was a decision he considers a “mistake” that he regrets.  Rather Clintonian, wouldn’t you say?  Rezko has also held various fundraisers for Obama raising millions of dollars for his campaign and was also very chummy with Illinois Democratic Governor Rod Blagojevich.  Adding to his list of favorite politicians, Mr. Rezko has also supported and done many money favors for Cook County Board President; John Stroger who is ultimately responsible for Chicago’s ultra-high sales tax rate.

Now, we find out Obama has kept a friendship/relationship with “Distinguished Professor of Education at the University of Illinois Chicago” Bill Ayers.  Ayers and wife, Bernadine Dohrn were original members and founders of the 1960′s radical terrorist group called the Weathermen.  In their opposition of the Vietnam War, they peacefully protested by bombing multiple government buildings here in the United States and screwed up a bomb experiement in NYC that ultimately cost the lives of three other members.  The two then – in a very Rosenburg kind of way – lived underground for years and continued in their pursuit to terrorize.  In the 70′s – after leaving the group, they turned themselves into authorities only to have the charges dropped against them for “prosecutorial misconduct.”  (Basically they walked on technicalities.)

Of course, as is the case with many walk-away psychotic criminals (O.J.), “Professor” Ayers wrote a book which was ironically published on September 11th, 2001 (perhaps it really WAS  an inside job)  that opens up with “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough” and also states that he would not “discount the possibility” when asked if he would do it again.  This man is a “professor” at a University today.

To think for the last few years, liberals have contemplated capturing GW Bush and smashing his fingers with a meat cleaver for once shaking hands with Jack Abramoff.  (Note to self: be prepared for comments and e-mails reminding me that Bush is good friends with has met the bin Laden family that have been estranged from Osama for decades and once said “good evening” to the President of Halliburton.)

So what would Reagan say?  Would it be: “I’m sure he’s very patriotic but his relationship to Ayers is open to question“?  Somehow, I think not.  But it’s certainly what John McCain said.  Someone ought to remind Mr. McCain that sometimes to advance yourself politically, it’s not always best to “play politics.”  Sometimes we have to call a spade and spade.

Put all this together: Obama’s ties to an angry-black-racist-pastor, an indicted slum lord, and a proud-former terrorist now teaching students at the University of Illinois, I’d say Americans have a really good excuse to be pissed off at the media and people like Oprah for putting this dangerous individual out to the American people.

Or they could concur with Michelle Obama’s recent statement: “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country.”

Obama’s Claim of Experience

This is an entertaining debate posted strictly for my McCain supporters.

I wonder why Michael Steele won’t run for anything again.  He’s energetic, funny, and extremely thoughtful.

And even though Bob Beckel remains a Democratic strategist, he’s pretty funny as well.  I actually feel sorry for the guy here where he has to explain Obama’s claim of having more world experience in comparison to McCain when it comes to dealing with foreign policy.

“What are you smoking?” A perfect question.

Analyzing Madonna – and Lovin’ the Song!

Okay – as a conservative I will admit one weakness…..my love of Madonna.  I’ve attended many shows, bought every CD, and saw every movie – no matter how bad.

Sometimes though (and this is open for criticism) I wonder just how “liberal” Madonna really is when it comes to politics.  Yeah, she dissed George Bush in her last concert a few times and yes she spoke kindly of Bill Clinton and Al Gore’s documentary and even rubbed noses with Michael Moore.

But – let’s take a look at a couple of noticeable highlights of the last few years.  Contradicting her position to loving Al Gore’s documentary, she still flies private jets, rides limos, and has many huge estates all over the world.  While being interviewed on “The View”, Madonna explained how having a family was important to her and put emphasis on having it all – including the hubby.  Joy Behar immediately challenged her by remarking that some single parents were happy and fulfilled.  Madonna replied “well, I need a husband.”  (which drew applause from Hasselback and the entire audience).  When it comes to spending, she personally inspects every invoice in her office daily and vocally challenges hidden charges.  At restaurants, she tips the strict rate of tip provided the help did a great job.  She demands a lot from her employees and makes them earn raises.  This doesn’t mesh well with the big-spending and big-tax ideas of the Democrats.

While other celebrities like O’Donnell, Streisand, and Fonda became active in their stance against the war, Madonna remained quiet.  (With the exception of random remarks that never seemed genuine.)

Madonna is a businesswoman and a damned good one.  If she were even a political moderate and considering the bulk of her audience, what do you think it would do to her career to say she supported conservative policies?

Just a few things to think about.  I’ll shut up now.  In any case, this song is a jam!

Enjoy.

It’s “Inexcusable” To Do Their Job

Some folks really are THAT idiotic.  I suspect this story has snuck out to the rest of the country – mainly due to the fact that friends from California are talking about it in e-mails to me.  Around here, it’s been over-talked about.

Of course I am talking about the cougar-shooting on the trendy Northside where; up until last week, the wildest cats to ever exist in these parts were the countless men in Chicago’s Boystown gay clubs.  At least that’s what is was like when I lived there.  When I lived there, the only threat was more Democrat-tax hikes which ultimately drove me 30-minutes south to a new county with a house and my own driveway.

I suppose it is not shocking that many animal rights’ goons are attacking the Chicago police department for killing the cat.  The woman showcased in this video clip rambles on about how there is not a single incident in 100 years of a cougar attacking or hurting a person but remained cautious by using the word “probably” before giving her own analysis.

I wonder what the statistics are of cougars (“top predators”) roaming densely populated cities of six million people in the last 100 years?

Since, there have been numerous more sitings of cougars and mountain lions on the Northside of the city.  I propose that every animal rights’ extremist and people like this lady be in charge of being the guinea pigs responsible for capturing these animals.  Let them go out there and assume the responsiblity of protecting neighborhoods with thousands of children and other innocent domesticated species.  Let them “become one” with the “top predators”, come back a week later, and let us know how it turns out.

Obviously these idiots aren’t realizing that food and prey which is more accessible to these animals in forests and jungles fails to exist in Chicago’s northside where half the residents are vegans.  Going long enough with out it, the cat will move on to the next best thing.

Note to cougar: if roaming the streets of Chicago hungry for fresh meat, your best bet is the local humane society.
