Pfleger Removed!

See, all of us here in Chicago aren’t all that bad!

Cardinal Removes Pfleger from St. Sabina Parish!

On the same day Obama wins the nomination!  Oh yeah, and Hill’s already bucking for VP.

  1. airforcewife,

    She’s not conceding, though.

I don’t know if I have enough popcorn stocked up for this presidential election cycle.

I’m personally hoping that she takes it to August and then McCain offers her SecState and announces it before the election.

    1) It keeps her away from healthcare.
    2) It adds her base to McCain’s supporters and might put him over the edge in beating Obama.
    3) She’s actually more hawkish than he is in many things.

Plus, it positions her very well in 2012.

As to “Father” Pfleger… As a Catholic, I’d like to apologize to the world for that.

  2. Pfleger falls into that category of a tool of provocation. Considering the anti-establishment dressing that Obama wants to project (note please “project”). Think of how this ‘Savonarola’ will be used. (Think Berrigans {who were Maryknoll and Jesuit} and, like Ayres and Bodine, were caught up in the bomb threats.)
As a Roman Catholic I won’t apologize for Pfleger; I repudiate him for abusing his identity as a clergyman, and for prostituting the sacrament of “Holy Orders” on the soiled bed of politics.
How pitifully low and ego can drop someone.

  3. airforcewife,

My apology is that the Church didn’t excommunicate Pfleger years ago. As they should have.

  4. Steve,

Yeah AFW and Shaw – I noticed on her website last night, her supporters are all begging her to run as an independent and are all donating money still!

Or to at least “take it to Denver.”

Kind of ridiculous in a way to expect her to be Obama’s VP. It’s like asking Madonna to open for Britney Spears.

  5. Tex Taylor,

    Shawmut,

Married to a Catholic, I don’t believe any Catholic should feel the need to apologize for the most reverend Vanilla Ice, anymore than I feel the need to apologize for the pandering philanderers masquerading as Protestant preachers you see on really bad TV.

Hopefully, rational beings both Protestant and Catholic, recognize these modern day pharisees as self-serving tools. The only service they provide is to find their own niche of self-aggrandizement and sometimes personal fortune at the expense of the foolish.

Though I’m not fit to be anyone’s judge, as the old cliche goes, “I don’t want to be behind them come judgement day.” Then again, maybe I do for the enjoyment of watching the smack down.

Interesting site by the way. My compliments to the blog owners. Hope you don’t mind my occasional screed.

  6. Steve,

LOL No problem Tex, I’m honored as I am sure is Phil.

  7. Right Tex,
Some times these pharisees that escaped from the Bible split off in mood swings. Some Swing Right, Some Swing Left. I guess, like you and AFW, I feel a bit uncomfortable when they use their roles irresponsibly, not thinking of the feelings of the Church as a body.
