It’s next to impossible to reason with a toddler or a five year old. Even older kids can lack intellectual understanding of their misdeeds.

But we all understand pleasure and pain. We all understand rewards and denials. We may not totally understand why we get one vs. the other. But we do understand we prefer one over the other.

That’s why you spank kids. They won’t understand if you time out and coddle them.

I hate to sound like a cliche, but I think that lax discipline is the reason that the younger ones are turning out so bad (dear God – I’m only 34). Unfortunately, I think we are in a trend that won’t reverse. I pray that someone comes up with a new psychology of parenting that actually works without spanking. Otherwise, the future generations will get more spoiled and mean.

LOL. Growing up it was the three B’s – belt, book, and board. If you ever did anything to endanger your life or the life of someone else, then you got the board across your bare ass with a home run swing to give it speed. You literally could not sit for two or three days. Yes it left marks. Getting maimed or killed leaves marks too.

I got boarded once and that was plenty.

When I share my parents used to do that people tell me that was child abuse. It wasn’t abuse. I love my parents dearly and they raised me right.

BTW, nobody in our family ever got boarded more than once. Once was plenty.

They won’t come down on Sharia’a law they are trying to make their own version of it minus the religious aspect. Although there are people whose use governmental ideology such socialism, communism as a new form of religion.

Now, how will these courts come down on Sharia’a Law.
I have a feeling, considering how they deal with everyother crisis up there; They’ll deal with it CONVENIENTLY.
Let’s watch them play these knots out.

Well people (the government) will usually try to hide this kind of thing so we don’t know we are screwed till after they got us all packed onto cattle cars.

“dangerous precedence” is a little soft on them don’t you think?

Canada’s about screwed right now. Maybe they don’t have enough kids in prison or single teenage moms and they are trying to make some.

But you at least still have freedom of Speech there… Wait never mind they got that one two last week.

Texas Rocks.

I think that the court needs to stay out of parenting, period, unless you can prove neglect or true abuse. Spanking doesn’t constitute abuse. It constitutes kids that’ll grow up to be functioning members of society.
