On GROSS income before deductions. If you divided your tax by your GROSS income in lieu of your TAXABLE income, I guarantee you’ll only find about 6% was paid in by you or retained by the treasury. I guarantee it. Not 23%.

The income is subject to interpretation when you’re calculating your rate one way and taking this one to compare to yours. It’s not a realistic interpretation.
