I’m so glad you wrote what you did, Phillip. Israel always gets singled out as the most racist nation-state on earth. The “Palestinians” have been the cause celebre for decades now even though most of the pro-PLO crowd knows nothing about them.
What gets me is when I see gays, such as QUIT, spew uneducated, naive, and erroneous hate against the state of Israel. Israel is the ONLY country in the ENTIRE middle east region, which supports gay rights and which allows gays and lesbians to serve OPENLY in the IDF. NO OTHER country (including the Palestinian Authority) even comes close. While Egypt and Jordan promote “moderation” in general, they continue to overtly and covertly discriminate against gays and lesbians. In fact, in almost every country in the middle east save Israel, gays and lesbians are treated with overt contempt. Gays and lesbians are jailed, murdered via honor killings, or summarily executed in a public arena (all based on sharia law).
In addition, Israel is the ONLY democracy in that region. It is surrounded by fascist dicatorships, sharia-based theocracies, and/or brutal monarchies.

I don’t think any nation can do that. I would have to do some digging but I believe international law forbids annexing captured territory. It also forbids forced removal of native populations too.

The Palestinians have a two fold problem. First, the radical elements refuse to acknowledge Israel has a right to exist. Second, no other Arab country wants to take them in permanently.

Actually they have a three fold problem. They are stupid people. The Israeli people have turned a patch of under productive land into productive land. Israeli businsess have created jobs that need workers. The democratic capitalist system of Israel allows business creation and economic growth.

The best thing that even happened to the Palestinians was the creation of Israel.

Personally, I think they should give the Palestinians one week to get out. Give them seven days–the amount of time that Israel’s neighbors kept up the fight in 1967–to pack up and leave. Tell them that land is Israel, that Jordan was created as a home for the Palestinians, and they are to LEAVE.

At the end of that seven days, scrape it all into the sea. Anyone who hasn’t left either dies (if they’re men of fighting age) or goes to prison (if they’re women) until they’ll be taken by a neighboring country that’s so interested in a Palestinian state.

Oh, AFW, you are correct–Al Sharpton got away with it in 1995 and has never been called out for his anti-Semitic practices to this very day.

Because the extreme left is anti-Israel. Obama has to toss them a bone.

When the Republicans were in power they had to toss bones too. It is a numbers game. You can’t win unless your base shows up and votes. Even with your base a win it never a guarantee. Trying winning an election without you base.

Building more settlements is how peace will be obtained. Until your enemy expresses your right to exist, pressure must be exerted. Keeping turning the vice until their heads explode.

Egypt wanted their territory back and they got it. The government of Egypt did the right thing and the rewards have followed.

Every time Israel has made concession to the Palestinians they have been rewarded with more rocket attacks and other violent attacks. I am sure not all the people of Palestine want to continue fighting the Israelis but the terrorists in charge will not stop. Why should Israel punish itself? I certainly don’t think every thing they do is right, but they do have a right to exist.
I really don’t understand why the Obama administration is so anti-Israel.
