Associated Press: Obama urges Dems to pass health care overhaul
The opening paragraph reads like the new Pledge of Allegiance authored by Hugo Chavez.
Casting health care overhaul as a legacy for the American people and failure as politically unthinkable, President Barack Obama on Sunday rallied Senate Democrats to deliver on their party’s half-century quest to expand the social safety net by providing access for all.

Access for all? Since when has any person been denied access to an ER in recent memory? Federal law mandates access. We are in the mess we are in because Federal law mandates access. Why be careful when you can go to the ER? Why eat right when you can go to the ER? Why drive safe when you can go to the ER?
We don’t need more access, we need less access. A hospital is the only business entity I know of where Supply creates Demand. It’s an upside down business model that needs correction through free market economic forces.
If you run a 300 bed hospital then empty beds don’t generate revenue. You have an incentive to fill those beds. You have an incentive to run tests and such. Giving the people unrestricted access helps accomplish that.
We don’t need more access, we need less access. Less access is a good thing. Less access will force hospitals out of business. Fewer hospitals leaves fewer for profit medical corporations sucking at the teats of insurance and Medicare because they have supply and must create demand.
