Dana Loesch, editor for bigjournalism.com and host of The Dana Show, took to her show to give her two cents about the story about US Marines caught on camera urinating on dead Taliban fighters. Basically what she said was what I did when I first heard about it: yes, it was wrong, but it’s absolutely silly to turn it into a travesty when we’re dealing with an enemy that outlawed music, enforced severe penalties under extreme religious law, and after also outlawing competitive sports converted a soccer field into an execution stage where women and children were routinely lashed or executed for crimes as outrageous as being caught out in public without a male relative to escort them – or not wearing a burqa that completely concealed every inch of skin.
The vitriol that poured out of the left at Dana was incredible. We’ve all seen some serious hate speech from liberals, but this was pretty bad. Here are some of the messages sent to her on Twitter (LANGUAGE WARNING):

Wow. When I first heard the story about the Marines I was surprised but not too much. It is wrong but it’s understandable if you’re the Marine or soldier who has been in constant combat with a shadow enemy. I’ve never been in combat but I don’t think it’s something you just turn off. Stuff I have read from WWII had the young replacements (who hadn’t even been through as much combat action) behaving worse towards the enemy than the veterans who had seen and lost more.
Either way, these people should be ashamed of their responses. I get angry reading things but I don’t even consider responding in anything close to this way (okay, maybe if the person is on a cell phone in a car and has nearly hit me and doesn’t even realize it. Still working on my disintegration ray;-)).
I guess the Left is for the rights of people as long as they are people like them. I can imagine them being in charge of rights and doling them out to friends and putting the rest of us in camps (you decide whether those camps are death or re-education camps).

OK, I will grant you Keith Olbermann is mainstream far left media figure who regularly spouts off ridiculous claptrap (though I do in fact agree that we have to be better than the Taliban, if he had just left it at that rather than trying to misconstrue Dana Loesch’s statement he would have had a decent tweet)….. but I’m somehow thinking someone with a user name like “anti_feminist” would not describe himself as a “leftist” in any mainstream sense of the word.
As I recall, that particular user was a Ron Paul fanatic.
