Obama’s Labor Day Bulls#@t: Wisconsin

President Obama used the occasion of Labor Day to hold a political rally in Wisconsin.  He spewed invectives against the GOP, blaming them for his failure to lead the nation out of recession.

At a Labor Day speech in Milwaukee, Obama said Republicans are betting that between now and the Nov. 2 elections, Americans will forget the Republican economic policies that led to the recession. He said Republicans have opposed virtually everything he has done to help the economy, and have proposed solutions that have only made the problem worse.

“That philosophy didn’t work out so well for middle-class families all across America,” Obama told a cheering crowd at a labor gathering. “It didn’t work out so well for our country. All it did was rack up record deficits and result in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.”

Amazing.  Obama still refuses to own up to his own failures.  He still blames W. and Congressional Republicans for everything that is wrong with the economy today.  This scapegoating BS has to end.  As I’ve said before, it’s time for Obama to man-up and own his own failure as a president.

Even the voters of Wisconsin aren’t buying this crap.

Incumbent Dem. Senator Russ Feingold is in serious trouble this year.

Feingold, seeking his fourth term, had at one time been considered a shoo-in for re-election, especially after former Gov. Tommy Thompson decided not to challenge him.

But Feingold now finds himself in a likely dogfight with [Republican Ron] Johnson. The two have been statistically tied in six Rasmussen Reports polls dating to late May. The New York Times says that Feingold’s polls show him in “an unexpectedly tough race” against a challenger who so far has already spent three times as much as he has.

Remember US Rep. David Obey?  He was a liberal icon from the state of Wisconsin.  He served as a Dem leader in the US House for decades until he finally saw the handwriting on the wall this year and wisely retired.  His replacement is up for grabs.  But it now appears that this lib will be replaced by a Republican (interesting guy).

Sean Duffy was supposed to be the 2010 Republican sacrificial lamb, running against one of the House’s longest-serving liberal lions, Rep. David Obey. But in an election year that’s been anything but predictable, Obey unexpectedly announced his retirement in May, saying he was “bone-tired,” and Duffy, 38, now finds himself the would-be frontrunner in a race against Julie Lassa, a Democratic state senator, in Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District.

How about Wisonsin’s governor’s race to replace Dem. Jim Doyle?  Well, it doesn’t look much better for the Dems.

With less than three weeks until Wisconsin Republicans pick their nominee, both GOP hopefuls in the state’s gubernatorial contest run just slightly ahead of Democrat Tom Barrett.

The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows former Congressman Mark Neumann picking up 48% support while Barrett, the mayor of Milwaukee, earns 44% of the vote. Only three percent (3%) prefer another candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided.

Go ahead Barry.  Spew your BS and propose more spending to address your failures as president.  The people of this nation aren’t buying it.  And the folks in Wisconsin apparently aren’t any different.

Washington’s Dividing (Gay) Issue of the Year: D.A.D.T.

For about a week now, the number-one searched term on internet search engines like YAHOO! has been: “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

As with the previous administration, the current one is using an issue important to some members of the gay community to deflect from much larger problems most sane people would like dealt with first.

After completely failing the American people, Obama finally held a press conference today on the BP oil disaster which is closing down businesses, endangering the Gulf and all of its natural resources which human beings and wildlife rely on, and happened to kill a handful of decent hardworking Americans responsible for providing and refining energy that we need as a nation to remain productive.  In the conference, Obama accomplished what we all knew he was capable of doing: to assign total blame to BP and accept absolutely no substantial responsibility whatsoever.

Couldn’t he have done this about 20 days ago?  Ahh, he must have been too busy playing golf, giving comedy routines to the Hollywood elite, and attending fundraisers and events for Barbara Boxer.  (Guessing by his track record of carrying candidates to victory in 2010 with endorsement, perhaps we can thank him for his contribution to at least one issue important to Americans: getting rid of pompous incumbents.)

And while he wasn’t playing golf and stumping for Boxer, he was busy having lavish state dinners with foreign leaders who attack American policies.  After inviting President Calderon from Mexico to the United States last week, we saw two Presidents disparage Jan Brewer’s noble efforts to protect Arizonans and rail in rounds of applause from a liberal Congress by trashing the majority of Americans who support it.  (Rumor has it one of those presidents were supposed to be American.)

Clearly Americans are royally pissed off at the administration and Congress which are reflected in the latest GALLUP tracking poll with the President’s approval rating at 46% and his disapproval rating at 47%.

What better way to attempt to distract from issues important to Americans like immigration and a current national crisis which goes far beyond the simple characterization of something equivalent to “Bush’s Katrina” than to stir up American disagreement on crucial matters of national security?

Clearly, “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” is a matter of national security where its proponents have made their valid arguments and its opponents have made theirs.  Honestly, I am sorry, but I couldn’t care less about it right now.  Other than a few friends directly affected by it — one in particular who was kicked out of the military once it was discovered he was gay — it is not an issue that united Americans are focusing on.

Flashback a few years to George W. Bush.  If you recall; McCain, Kennedy, and GWB were trying to force amnesty down our throats before the 2006 midterm elections and in the heat of grassroots-American rage in its opposition to what became known as “shamnesty,” Bush directed Congress to jump on a divisive issue attached to homosexuality and they immediately began debating gay marriage.

Most strident adversity to gay issues like “gays in the military” come from people who equate homosexuality to a sickness or a social disorder of some kind.  But people change and in order to get them to change, we must exist in a society where the most important issues of the day like a national tragedy such as the oil spill or the complete and utter madness stemming from a simple Arizona law supported by the majority are discussed and resolved.

Clearly, this administration and its liberal congressional partners-in-crime are not, and have never been, interested in representing the core parts of its people who unite us.  If they had, their version of “health care reform” would have never had a chance to come up for a vote, we wouldn’t be using our hard-working tax dollars to contribute to bailing out Greece’s failed socialist policies, we wouldn’t be inviting foreign leaders who cannot control criminals within their own country to come on our soil and accuse us of all being racists, and we wouldn’t be witnessing the most embarrassing reaction to a national crisis.

Instead of blaming Bush this time, he’s blaming BP and has ripped a page out of the worst chapter of the Bush playbook: when you’re up against the ropes, turn against the voters and throw out a scapegoat issues sure to divide Americans to distract from finding solutions to our biggest current problems.

THIS is the extent of gay relevance in Washington.  It doesn’t matter which party is running the show.  But at least one of those parties don’t run around pretending to be our best friends so we foolishly walk into voting booths and pull levers to gratify their electoral hunger.

Until we can get matters on track like jobs, our economy, securing our borders, and assisting those in the southern states most affected by the BP gush, I’d prefer Washington stop using our community to divide Americans and screw with delicate matters of national security.

Nah, the AP Isn’t Biased!

Associated Press: Obama urges Dems to pass health care overhaul

The opening paragraph reads like the new Pledge of Allegiance authored by Hugo Chavez.

Casting health care overhaul as a legacy for the American people and failure as politically unthinkable, President Barack Obama on Sunday rallied Senate Democrats to deliver on their party’s half-century quest to expand the social safety net by providing access for all.

Obama to Taliban: Let’s Make A Deal!

Democrats are saying some amazing things right now…and they’re ensuring their pending demise with their words. Today, it’s come out that President Obama is talking about only sending enough extra troops to Afghanistan to effectively fight Al-Qaeda. Worse yet, he’s talking about making the Taliban “a partner in the political process.”

I’m sorry…since when did we recognize any difference between Al-Qaeda and the Taliban?

They may go by different names, but in ideals they are the same. They both believe that America is the great satan. They both believe that jihad needs to be carried out against America. The Taliban may be a government while Al Qaeda is a paramilitary organization, but I can’t tell where one begins and the other ends. And I cannot believe that we’re talking about actually trying to make a deal with the Taliban.

The Taliban gave Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda shelter, resources, and the ability to train for jihad. They helped 9/11 happen. While I may agree that we needed to have a better plan before taking action against Iraq, we should have taken out the Taliban before they got a foothold back in the 80’s. There was no excuse for allowing them to take power. We have pictures and video of human rights violations that make my blood run cold, and our President wants to make a deal?

I don’t suppose this has anything to do with his Muslim upbringing. Or his desire to find some way to apologize to the world.

I hear liberals all day telling me how even the war in Afghanistan is wrong and needs to end. It’s their culture, they say. It’s not up to us to tell other people how to live.

This is where Philip goes, “Oh, REALLY?”

If it’s not our job to tell anyone how to live, then what’s the point of hate crimes legislation (which, by the way, you’ll get your wish for today when Congress votes to add sexual orientation to the list)? If we don’t have any right to tell anybody else what’s right and wrong, then why do we as a society have any laws to begin with? If it’s not up to us to determine what constitutes a punishable human rights violation, then what the hell gives you the right to call waterboarding torture? And please, explain to me WHY you’re demanding a global response to the genocide in Darfur. Explain this to me. Tell me why Israel is so wrong for doing what they do and defending themselves, why you’re so ready to support Palestinian suicide bombers.

If it is not our business what another nation does because that’s their culture, then why do you point fingers at us here at gayconservative and say that we must be a group of self-loathing closet cases and liken us to Jews trying to be Nazis?

You can’t have it both ways. Either there’s a clear right and wrong and we’re willing to stand up for it or everything is gray and there should be no societal law.

Oh, and I have to point this one out, too–GOP members issued a statement about the kerfuffle over the proposed troop surge in Afghanistan, saying, “If Nancy Pelosi’s failed economic policies are any indicator of the effect she may have on Afghanistan, taxpayers can only hope McChrystal is able to put her in her place.”

Pelosi, on cue, made it a women’s rights issue and was completely aghast that Republicans would dare make such a statement. She just couldn’t believe that they’d say that to the first woman speaker of the house, and she hasn’t heard that language in decades.

Get a clue, Pelosi. We don’t give a damn what’s in your jockeys. What we care about is the fact that you have zero military experience and no concern whatsoever for what’s best for our nation and the future. That comment had nothing at all to do with your gender, so please, quit trying to make this a civil rights game. You’re proving that you’re incapable of using your brain to respond intelligently. You’re only playing politics, the same partisan game you accuse Republicans of.

One more thing…if any Republican had done what Charlie Rangel has, you’d be calling for his head. You’ve done it for far lesser offenses. Once we take the reins, you can bet your gender- and race-baiting ass he’ll answer for what he’s done.

“Change” We Can Believe In! (Without the Help of the Media)

Sarah

I have been noticing Obama’s approval ratings on Gallup the last couple of days….where some polls have him below 50% and others have him above, I consistently use the gallup polls to track how things are going.  The last few days, he’s been bouncing between 50% and 51%, which is important because for many weeks, he’d been bouncing between 51% and 54%.

Most notably was the poll on Congressional elections for 2010.  The Democrats just months ago enjoyed a six point lead over Republicans to the question “if the elections were held today?”

A new poll released today shows both parties virtually tied.

The Health Care issue – along with facts of the stimulus coming out – are going to be the biggest issues.

In more news, we know that Sarah Palin’s book – just on pre-orders alone has hit the number one spot on both Amazon and Barnes & Noble bestseller lists (plus, it is reported she has received a whopping $7M advance from the publishers).

It is rumored that Palin will be stomping for Republican candidates in 2010 and further rumored that proceeds received from her speeches will provide her with more power to do more.

Think for a second how the MSM has portrayed Palin and how they continue to portray Obama.  While they do this, I hear people complaining about the man as I stand in line at the grocery store or at the gas station.

With the “death panels” which were removed from the legislation of these proposed bills – due to one little Twitter by Sarah Palin – and as liberals continue to bounce back and forth as they are slapped with the reality of what Americans really want, let’s pray that they take the messages of Americans seriously.

The media will never be more powerful than the great intrinsic wisdom of the American people.

Crazy Times

Today, Democrats killed the transparency Obama promised yet again. While voting on whether to post the new healthcare legislation 72 hours prior to voting on the final bill, the Senate Finance Committee struck the measure down. They promised only to post “conceptual language” online about the bill. God forbid they actually let us all have unfettered access to it. We might actually decide for ourselves–the way we did on the last one–that we don’t want it.

Moammar Qadhafi addressed the UN right on the heels of dear leader Barack Obama. Obama told the entire world how he is the change everybody has waited for (all hail Obamessiah!). Then Qadhafi went on some long rant about how he would be happy if “our son” Obama could be the President forever, Israelis killed JFK and MLK, and Libya is going to “bring the rolling thunder” to America. America will be attacked again, so the UN needs to move out.

Meanwhile, back on the farm…

Here in Arizona, on November 15 of last year, 16-year-old Kelly Tracy was headed with her brother Matthew to prepare with their high school’s marching band to perform in a parade when their car was struck by a drunken illegal alien, Manuel Contreras-Galdean. Matthew was injured. Kelly died within hours. Contreras-Galdean was placed under arrest at the scene. Shortly after the collision he caused (while driving with a BAC of .192), he was found to be in the United States illegally. He has since also been charged with forgery–he used what police call “synthetic fraud” to create a fake identity and falsified employment records to get a job.

He wasn’t even supposed to be in our country.

I do not speak for the Tracy family. I do not know what their thoughts and feelings are about the aggravating factors of Contreras-Galdean’s “immigrant” status. But I can’t imagine how they must feel today as the man who murdered their daughter had the tacit nerve to stand up in court and reject the prosecution’s plea offer of 10.5 years for each count against him (21 years total).

That sorry SOB had the gall to demand 14 to 16 years.

Oh, but he’s sooooo sorry. He didn’t mean to cause the family any pain. He wasn’t supposed to be here, he wasn’t supposed to drink and drive, and he wasn’t supposed to be at the intersection at Guadalupe and Sossaman as lit up as he was that morning. He was, though, and while he survived with minimal injuries, beautiful Kelly was torn from her life before she’d had a chance to do all the things she hoped to do.

Contreras-Galdean isn’t the first to beg for leniency in court because he didn’t mean to hurt anybody. People who have willingly killed with their bare hands have made such claims many times over. Since when does simply saying “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to” absolve anyone of the consequences of taking a life?

One of my top ten favorite lyrics ever is from a song by Jars of Clay, called Crazy Times: “it takes more than your saline eyes to make things right.”

How Kind of You, Mr. President!

Members of Congress and Obama have now moved toward denouncing the emphasis of opposition of this health care reform disaster and affirm their position by reminding us how much they are willing to contribute.

Obama today at a rally said he was happy that ‘people like him’ could pay a little more to make sure that 46 million Americans could have health care.

It all sounds great now, doesn’t it?

What he isn’t able to avoid though is the fact that there aren’t many ‘people like him’ in the country.  He works for the United States Government!

What’s the difference between working for the United States Government and working for a private insurance company?  How about the fact that making a profit or loss affects CEOs at insurance companies (not to mention millions of middle-class employees) but DOES NOT affect Obama’s salary in the case of the Government?  We’ve seen all Presidents in the past rack up massive debt (Democrat and Republican) and they will still receive generous health care benefits and retirement packages – as will Obama.

Here’s my question: as the Government continues to put its hands further into the auto industry, mortgage industry, and now health care; and more and more CEOs and people making over $250K per year are phased out, how does Obama expect us to believe that the middle class will never have to pay more when less people are going to be there to pay that “little bit more” which he is willing to contribute?

My opinion is that he knows that’s impossible. After this plan is sold to the middle class under the guise of protecting them and we are all forced to a single-payer plan, he will get what he’s wanted all along.  The country will be in so deep that it will never matter once everyone realizes.

This is such an important fight.  I pray that the many articles popping up now denouncing average Americans and their concerns will not dissuade those same Americans from fighting harder in this next month.

Call your Congressman, write them, etc.  Let them know you are saying “No!”

It took seven months…

But Obama has now made such a mess that even the Messiah-loving media cannot clowd over.

Good news:  Almost half of America is sane again.

Bad News: Half of America is still drunk.

Sorry I have been away, I have been on a few mini-vacations exploring the great Midwest.  But I cannot think of a better way to check in with everyone than this.

One Good American: “I Didn’t Vote For Him [Obama]”

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E58cCmf_7xE]

In response to the President’s comments which labeled him and his local colleagues as people who behave “stupidly,” Sgt. Crowley says that he will not apologize to Gates.  He also implies how unimportant Obama’s opinion is of him by asserting he did not vote for him.

Doing a complete flip; however, Police in Cambridge, Mass. are now demanding the apology – but from the President himself.  Among the department is a Black officer who supports the arrest of Gates as he was there to witness what actually happened.  Miraculously, Gates has neighbors that witnessed the event, too and err on the side of the officer given what he saw as well.

Meanwhile, the Obama staff has done a complete turnaround with the media.  Suddenly, it is fashionable for Gibbs to blame the media of obsession for prolonging the story.

In other words, can’t we just make this go away!?

These guys should try being Sarah Palin for just one day.

My take on this focuses more on the response by commenters on youtube and Facebook who are expressing sorrow for casting their vote for the beloved one after being convinced of Obama’s bias to this incident by his rushing to judgment without knowing all the facts (as he has admitted).

My surprise is that Obama has exuded signs of racial activism since his days in the Illinois legislature.  We all know he went to a church and listened to the sermons of Wright and Pleger for many years before suddenly resigning in the same year he was running for President.

NOW America is noticing?  Proof that Mr. Gibbs better watch his mouth with regard to the media as it was that same enterprise that sent over half of the voters into voting booths pulling levers as a bunch of drugged monkies.

If indeed Al Queda ever had reason to laugh at us, this is the time.
