What Did He Know?

You think I’m going to let the Blagojevich thing go for a day?  Not a chance.  This is pure gold.  Steve could probably speak to this better than I can, but it’s apparent that we are about to see what Chicago politics are all about.

This scandalous Dem machine will rear its head and take down a lot of folks.  If the MSM has anything to say about it, Obama will remain unscathed and above the fray, but there are some juicy questions out there.  Now we get to see if Patrick Fitzgerald is truly non-partisan or if he truly is a hack (as seems apparent in his prosecution of Scooter Libby).  What am I talking about?  Per the Chicago Sun-Times:

Blagojevich, 51, and Harris [his chief of staff], 46, both of Chicago, are each charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and solicitation of bribery. They were charged in a two-count criminal complaint that was sworn out on Sunday and unsealed today following their arrests, which occurred without incident, the feds said.

A 76-page FBI affidavit alleges that Blagojevich was intercepted on court-authorized wiretaps during the last month conspiring to sell or trade Illinois’ U.S. Senate seat vacated by Obama for financial and other personal benefits for himself and his wife.

At various times, in exchange for the Senate appointment, Blagojevich allegedly discussed obtaining:

•                 A substantial salary for himself at a either a non-profit foundation or an organization affiliated with labor unions.

•                 Placing his wife on corporate boards where he speculated she might garner as much as $150,000 a year.

•                 Promises of campaign funds — including cash up front.

•                 A cabinet post or ambassadorship for himself.

You need to click the Sun-Times link and read all of this stuff.  It’s unbelievable. Believe it or not ABC news actually brought up some good stuff concerning this mess on their website. Let’s figure out how much Obama knew.

Asked what contact he’d had with the governor’s office about his replacement in the Senate, President-elect Obama today said “I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening.”

But on November 23, 2008, his senior adviser David Axelrod appeared on Fox News Chicago and said something quite different.

While insisting that the President-elect had not expressed a favorite to replace him, and his inclination was to avoid being a “kingmaker,” Axelrod said, “I know he’s talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them.”

Ummmm….yeah.  Do tell, Mr. Axelrod.  Of course, Obama aides rushed out to insist that Axelrod “misspoke.”  Unlikely.  Looks like some major CYA going on here.  Obama might have never offered any carrots to Blago, but the statement that he never contacted the disgraced governor needs to be investigated thoroughly.  Even if no wrongdoing occured (which I doubt), Obama’s denial likely points to the fact that we are in for 4 more years of Bill Clintonesque parsing of words, outright lies and shady connections.  History repeats itself.

But consider further…..

But there remain questions about how Blagojevich knew that Mr. Obama was not willing to give him anything in exchange for the Senate seat — with whom was Blagojevich speaking? Did that person report the governor to the authorities?

And, it should be pointed out, Mr. Obama has a relationship with Mr. Blagojevich, having not only endorsed Blagojevich in 2002 and 2006, but having served as a top adviser to the Illinois governor in his first 2002 run for the state house.

I find it difficult to believe that Obama was that close to Blagojevich and yet had no discussions concerning his replacement in the Senate.  Blago was Obama’s “man” – good ole “Hot Rod.”

In 2004, then-Gov. Blagojevich enthusiastically endorsed Obama for the Senate seat after he won the nomination, and Obama endorsed Blagojevich for his 2006 re-election race in early 2005.

In the Summer of 2006, then-U.S. Sen. Obama backed Blagojevich even though there were serious questions at the time about Blago’s hiring practices.

I can’t even get into everything here.  As I type and surf the net, more crap is coming out about Tony Rezko (who has ties to Obama and Blago), Blago’s wife, his chief of staff.  This is a bomb.  The fact that some of the MSM is even bringing Obama into it speaks volumes to the severity of the situation.  I’m sure Obama’s henchmen are doing massive spinning and damage control.  We’ll see if Fitzgerald and the MSM actually do their job or if they white-wash this in short order.

Congratulations, ladies and gentlemen of the United States.  You voted for change.  And what you got was a political neophyte with socialist tendencies who is involved with characters like this.  You didn’t get change.  You got four more years of the Clinton administration.  I’m amazed at how naive the American electorate can be.  How can they be so susceptible to slick marketing?  Well, folks – you got what you voted for.  And I guarantee you that this is only the beginning.  Good luck with all that change shit.  Sorry to sound bitter.  I’m actually gloating.

Blowing Out the Plame-Flame

As if any of us should be surprised by this but it is fun to watch a freak show lose its zest every once in a while and as Michelle Malkin points out: “Now, will they please go away?”  HOW ABOUT IT!?  I thought the whole point to their made-up drama was to put emphasis on their desire for privacy.

Just announced today: Judge Dismisses Plame Lawsuit!

That’s right — after a Vanity Fair spread, after a six-figure book deal negotiated by Joe Wilson, and after the writings of her “Memoirs” (to be released), it seems like Plame will have to beg to get her desk-job back at the CIA.

Bush’s New Move: Pardon Scooter!

After hearing the sentence of Scooter Libby my first thought was how insufferable the gloating would be among the liberal bloggers.  To be fair, the judge has a history of delivering harsh sentences and he was put into position by the Bush family.  (By the way – another African American put into a powerful position by the Bush family.)  Seeing as liberals should be happy with the reading of the conviction (30 months in jail and a 250K fine), it seems that liberals finally have a reason to love the Bush family!

Obviously, this sentence was too harsh.  In fact, no crime was committed originally since we now know that the actual whistle-blower of Plame was an anti-war ranter.  So what was Scooter Libby lying about and obstructing?

What gets me the most are the headlines worded like “Libby Convicted in CIA Leak Case.”  The more appropriate headline should be “Libby Convicted in Perjury-Trap Case.”

With Bush’s idiotic response to the immigration ordeal, he indeed owes us another energizing move.  The response should be overwhelming to the President to do the only right thing anyone in his position could do and pardon Scooter Libby from pointlessly spending 30 months in jail.

Idiotic Liberal policies have led to easier punishments on hardened criminals.  We have judges all over the country giving convicted child molesters months in jail and small probabation charges.  We had a bogus case that served no purpose than to appeal to the far-left who feels this qualifies as a sure legacy of corruption connected to the Bush administration.

Libby should be pardoned and it should happen now.

Plame-Fame: 10 Steps to Fame

Steps to Plame-Fame!

1.) Use your “classified” desk-job position at the CIA to send your husband on a trip to Africa at the expense of taxpayers.

2.) Have your husband put your alleged “covert” status at risk by writing an op-ed to the NY Times.

3.) Pose for a photo with your husband for Vanity Fair (adding to the careful step of preserving privacy explained in step 2.).

4.) Have your husband write a book about it while in the throws of “liberals-love-victims” slurpery.  (And get a six-figure deal on it.)

5.) Encourage Patrick Fitzegerald to move forward with his investigation perjury-trap EVEN AFTER anti-war mouthpiece; Richard Armitage, informs everyone (behind the scenes) that it was him who “revealed” her name.

6.) Continue to refer to yourself as “covert” after Patrick Fitzgerald announces his indictments on what was to be “Fitzmas Day” and consistently refers to your job status as “classified” (purposely avoiding the term “covert” multiple times.)

7.) After Patrick Fitzgerald indicts NOBODY for revealing your name, he indicts Scooter Libby on a perjury charge.

8.) File a personal lawsuit against members of the Bush administration, testify in front of Congress, and quickly work to finish up your book (which will hopefully do considerably better than your husband’s by the way.)

9.) May 29, 2007 – Get really lucky and have Newsweek’s Michael Isikoff report that Patrick Fitzgerald FINALLY refers to you as a “covert” agent in “new court filings.”  (Even though Richard Armitage has NOT been indicted for revealing you and even though the taxpayers paid for an investigation that leads to NOTHING but a phony perjury charge.)

10.) Just 2-days later; on May 31, 2007, announce a lawsuit against the CIA for “unconstituionally interfering with the publication” of your “memoir.”

I’m sure it was a total coincidence that Fitzgerald is now finally; after years and months of investigations, court hearings, and indictment readings, that he; FOR THE FIRST TIME, refers to her status as “covert” just two days before Valerie Plame announces YET ANOTHER lawsuit, this time against the CIA.

“Fair Game” or “Unfair Blame”?
