Tolerance and Civility Reach a New Low

Immediately following the shooting in Tucson at an event held by Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said, “When you look at unbalanced people, how they respond to the vitriol that comes out of certain mouths about tearing down the government. The anger, the hatred, the bigotry that goes on in this country is getting to be outrageous.” I couldn’t agree more.

Although my agreement is on a very, very different level.

The so-called “dangerous” things being done by conservatives? Sarah Palin famously Twittered, “don’t retreat, reload!” in response to losses to liberal candidates. Later, her PAC website showed 20 Congressional districts won by liberals and had them in a very simple version of crosshairs. This is a tactic used by businesses the world over in marketing material, and politicians on both sides of the aisle have used it. Considering that I know what real crosshairs look like, that goofy little circle with a simple cross over it just seems a little silly. But Harry Mitchell knows what they look like…he used them in his original ad when he ran against JD Hayworth:

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqB4tyvxWKA]

I haven’t heard a peep from Mitchell about the ad. I have heard a lot of wailing from liberals who demand that we as conservatives learn to be more civil, but I have yet to come across a single liberal willing to call out those in their own ranks who make comments that are overt – telling conservative leaders to die, wishing aloud that they’d kill themselves, and in some cases simply saying they’d like to kill those leaders. If you need any evidence here you go:

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItcqrHLZGDg&feature=player_embedded]

My personal favorite of all of the Twitter screen captures was from @YaboYyChris: “If ppl vote for mitt romney for president i would kill ppl, having a mormon as president is horrible.” Then there was @CaviarChick, who said, “Sarah Palin needs to choke on a d*ck and die wit her dumb *ss!! #DieSlow I’m sending shoots at ur head bitch!!” And there was @OhLawdyShawty, who Tweeted, “Sarah Palin needs to be shot. Matter fact I’ll do it my got damn self.”

Where’s Olbermann, who you can hear in the voice-over demanding apologies from every Fox News anchor he doesn’t like, to condemn this trash? Where is his frequent guest, Janeane Garofalo, who wastes no opportunity to make crass jokes about hatemongering conservatives (yet never has an ounce of proof that we’re hateful racists)? Where is Chris Matthews? Where is Rachel Maddow? Not one of them is going to question any of this. None of them has the guts to call out their own ranks. Not one of these liberal media shills has the spine required to stand up and admit that the most hatred and vitriol comes from their own people – and the best they have against conservatives is shaky at best. The video posted above shows at least 50-75 messages of hate and death threats; they couldn’t collect nearly that many from conservatives against their idols.

Maxine Waters was caught on camera last week saying “the Tea Party can go straight to hell!” Shortly thereafter, Andre Carson was recorded saying, “these Tea Party people…would love to see some of us hanging on a tree!” Then, on Monday, AFL-CIO thug Richard Trumka flew to Detroit on Air Force One with President Obama for a Labor Day rally. At the rally, the warm-up speaker was Jimmy Hoffa, Jr. – and he had some pretty hateful, violent rhetoric himself:

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6gHfhwShhA]

Yes, you heard him correctly…he said we’re at “war”, said “Mr. Obama, we are your army”, and ended with, “let’s take these son of a bitches out” (yes, he said it incorrectly, and if it were Bush we’d still be hearing about how he can’t even swear correctly).

If this is tolerance, if this is civility, then I must have missed the memo. Of course, if you were to call these people out for their blatant hatemongering, they’d say that they are justified by all of the hate coming from conservatives. I know it makes no sense, and most of our readers will know that it makes no sense, but that’s their mentality – tolerance for me but not for thee.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz went on Fox and Friends and tap danced until pressed one too many times. Then she finally made the following excuse: “are you kidding me? Really Gretchen? How many times have you called out coarse language at tea party rallies? Almost never.”

We all know what the liberal ideal for the perfect leader is. He would be an animal lover, so much so that he’s a vegetarian. He would understand the frailty of our planet and consult with scientists willing to help draft government policies that limit emissions and incursion into fragile ecosystems. He would care about the hard-working citizens and hype unions as an indispensable part of society. He would also call out the old school members of the government who are holding the citizenry back and demand that more be done to help the poor in their society, all while calling for peace.

The world had that very leader once already. His name was Adolf Hitler. He called for tolerance and peace while engaging in behind-the-scenes thuggery, forcing himself on the populace. By the time he was in power, the majority that didn’t want him had said and done nothing for too long – and they couldn’t do a thing about it.

We are, slowly but surely, headed for the same thing. Liberals are headed in the exact same direction that Nazis did. We cannot allow this to continue. If Hitler were here today and had anything to say about the Tea Party, I’m sure he’d love the most recent hatred to come from liberals – a game where you can murder famous conservative figureheads. The company that created the game counts The History Channel, NASCAR, and Red Bull among its clients.

I’m not a Tea Party member. I tend to agree with a lot of what they say, though. I don’t protest; I write. I think. I’m not interested in shouting across picket lines at people who are completely brainless. I tell you what, though, liberals – you want me? Come and get me. I’m not hard to miss.

Tuesday’s Revolution

I love foreign affairs, foreign policy issues, international news, etc.  But I also enjoy peeking around the corner to understand foreign perspectives on American events – particularly politics.  The London Daily Telegraph is always a great source.  And this article by Janet Daley is more introspective in terms of Tuesday’s elections than any American source I have read.  It’s amazing how much clarity is realized from the outside looking in.

More than three centuries ago, the residents of America staged a rebellion against an oppressive ruler who taxed them unjustly, ignored their discontents and treated their longing for freedom with contempt. They are about to revisit that tradition this week, when their anger and exasperation sweep through Congress like avenging angels. This time the hated oppressor isn’t a foreign colonial government, but their own professional political class.

Daley appropriately identifies the Tea Party movement as a grassroots reaction against the political establishment rather than some arm of the Republican Party.  And she correctly identifies the terms of the Tea Party’s tentative support of the GOP in this election in her evaluation of the upcoming midterm elections.

My Republican friends, perhaps surprisingly, were not gloating. They were too furious. But contrary to the superficial British assumption (heavily promoted by the BBC), they were not devoting their excoriation exclusively to the Obama Administration – or even to its clique of Congressional henchmen, led by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. That they were opposed to the Big State, European social democratic model of government which Obama had imported to Washington went almost without saying. But they were at least as angry with the leadership of their own party for having conceded far too much of the argument…..

So the Republicans are, if anything, as much in revolt against the establishment within their own party as they are against the Democrats. And this is what the Tea Parties (which should always be referred to in the plural, because they are not a monolithic movement) are all about: they are not just a reaction against a Left-liberal president but a repudiation of the official Opposition as well.

Assuming that the GOP benefits resoundingly from voter anger on Tuesday, the Republican leadership should be fully aware that this mandate is not a response to their establishment policies or agenda.  It is not even an endorsement of the GOP platform.  Their mandate will come from a total rejection of Obama, Reid and Pelosi’s attempts to push Big Government.  And many of the voters who put the GOP into power will be independent voters, unaffiliated with either political party.

I am socially conservative on most all issues.  I also want a strong miltary and an emphasis on national defense (independents won’t disagree with this).  But this election is about the economy and overbearing government intrusion.  And that intrusion finds itself creeping into many of the social causes that I hold dear.  The thing that I hold in common with the frustrated independent voters is a desire to get the government out of our lives.  This may seem libertarian, but is also a basic tenet of our nation’s founding principles.

It seems like voters are returning to those foundations in the face of the frightening alternative.  The GOP will likely benefit from this phenomenom based on the philosophical underpinnings of the Republican Party in contrast to the Democrat philosophy of Obama, Pelosi and Reid.  The GOP will be entrusted with a very specific mandate.  And if they screw up like they did last time or misinterpret that mandate – I can assure you that the wrath from voters will be equally swift next time around.

Palin Derangement Syndrome Leads to DWTS “BooGate”

As everyone knows, Bristol Palin has been dancing and doing very well on Dancing With the Stars.  To support her, Sarah has been sitting in the front row for the past couple of episodes.

After last night’s episode, the media went wild.  After Jennifer Grey’s performance, the judges gave their scores.  Then, in the backroom as Grey and her partner were being interviewed, you heard a suspicious massive loud booing coming from the ballroom — and immediately, the camera went right to the host sitting and talking with Sarah Palin.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjI3Vuv4vB8]

Now, it is important to watch both videos, because you’re not going to get the full rebuttal from the MSM.  Why would the MSM waste their time correcting the assertion that Palin was booed?  How about the record number of mainstream outlets and liberal blogs who enthusiastically entertained it:

And there is much more fun!  Tonight, DWTS was forced to clarify what the booing was truly all about: the judges’ scores for Jennifer Grey; who did a wonderful job, considering all she had been through.  And with the clarification, comes the real video which revealed the real truth:

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXi_qTWxxXA]

So why are liberals this desperate to mischaracterize boos from an audience (known to boo at the judges all the time) which leads the media to massively over-report the mistruth?

I think liberal-writer Jay Anderson over at BlackVoices says it best:

Sarah Palin scares me.

If you realllllly want to have a good time, click on one of the links above and look for one of the following:

A.) Liberal Silence

B.) Liberal Denial (I.E. the neocons over at ABC were forced to do it by Palin)

The beauty and comfort for conservatives and Palin-lovers alike lies in Jay Anderson’s remarks above (though the guts of his piece is the usual left-wing blather we get on Sarah).  They are so deranged over Palin, they actually find comfort that a small studio audience in the middle of Hollywood possibly booed her and made such a big deal about it.

No other conservative has stirred up this much derangement.

What began as a funny post here (making fun of moonbats is always my favorite hobby) quickly turns into a serious point when you consider all of the Tea Party candidates she has backed and all the RINOs she’s been instrumental in tossing out of Congress.

Folks, if you ever doubted the power of Palin, I strongly urge you to reconsider.

Miller Closer than Expected (Thanks Sarah!)

(Notice the “grim” picture of the photo of Joe Miller used by the media)

I was very interested in the Alaskan Senate race and have been following Sarah Palin’s Facebook posts.

I spent last week paying attention to the AP and to observe alleged “Alaskans” coming out against Palin in this massive support for incumbent, Lisa Murkowski.

Murkowski did not win her initial seat in the United States Senate.  She was appointed by the then-Governor, Frank Murkowski, who also happened to be her daddy.  Sarah Palin was a candidate back in those days of a short-list Murkowski kept to fill that seat and in the end, he chose his daughter.  As Palin was cast aside by Murkowski, he offered her the job of heading the Alaska Oil and Gas Commission.  It was there which Palin gained her vast knowledge on energy issues where she teamed up with Democrats to take out Republican operatives (establishment RINOs) who were taking information from the AOGC to oil-industry insiders.  This began Palin’s crusade against the Murkowskis.  The private jets, the personal chefs, and the nepotism of back-scratching with family members and oil-industry executives at the expense of the people was a thing of the past!

After doing this, Palin took Frank Murkowski on and won Alaska’s Governor’s race in a landslide.

Not only did Murkowski get canned, but Palin canned every corrupt member of Murkowski’s back-scratching team.  So naturally, Lisa Murkowski has had a grudge against Palin for quite sometime.

Allegedly knowing how bureaucracy works, Lisa Murkowski defied common sense and publicly slammed Palin for resigning last year as Governor.  Even though Palin’s enemies; which consisted of both liberals and Palin-spanked RINOs, used an ethics law which Palin championed for to file almost 30 frivolous ethics charges against her that cost Palin nearly a half-million in personal legal debt as well as $2M of Alaskan taxpayer money and endless state resources of time and energy distracting Palin’s impressive administration from moving forward.  Murkowski denied the common sense characterization of Palin’s resignation (selfless and in the best interest of Alaskans) and attacked to appease the anti-Palin sentiment portrayed to this day by the media and liberals alike.

The cronyism among Murkowski-like Republicans has been just as devastating to our country as liberalism.  In fact, it’s even worse.  They do it in the name of “conservatism.”

For the last week, every media article released defined the race as a no-brainer for Murkowski.  A Politico article today describes “public polls showed Murkowski heavily favored to win Tuesday’s primary” while others simultaneously portrayed the race as a grudge match between Murkowski and Palin

Step 1. Discourage Miller’s voters from turning out.

Step 2. Be able to portray this as an overwhelming message of America’s anti-Palinism while loving the RINOs who have contributed to running our country in the ground.

But tonight, with 51% of the precincts reporting, Miller leads Murkowski by 52% to 48%.

Even though the media did its best to underscore the Palin-endorsed candidate’s chances.  Even though Alaskan “Republicans” have been coming out of the woodwork mysteriously to tell us how Palin embarrasses them and doesn’t speak for them.

No matter how this race concludes, the power of Palin and the tea party against establishment RINO incumbents; who suck up to convenience and diss conviction is undeniable. Even if Murkowski does pull ahead in the second half of the precincts to report, knowing she massively outspent Miller, the fact that she’s probably pissing in her pants right now is proof.

I cannot wait to get the AP’s interpretation of this tomorrow.

Notice how everything the AP does lately with regard to the upcoming midterms centers around Palin and her influence.  But expect to turn blue holding your breath waiting for them to accurately portray it.

Hopeful Thinking

So what do you think about Biden’s remarks?

Vice President Joe Biden, rallying the home team as his party’s most energetic cheerleader, predicted Friday that Democrats would hold their majorities in the House and Senate this fall. Biden’s bold punditry came amid a spate of bad economic news and President Obama’s declining approval rating.

Speaking to the Democratic National Committee’s summer meeting in St. Louis, the vice president mocked the rival “Republican tea party,” which he said is “offering more of the past, but on steroids.” If “it weren’t illegal,” he said, ” I’d make book” on the odds of Democrats hanging on in the midterm elections this November……

Next Nov. 3, Biden predicted “there will be in Washington, D.C., a Democratic majority in the House and a Democratic majority in the Senate. That will be the case.” The anger of voters is understandable given the high joblessness and weak economic recovery, he said. But the vice president said he likes the odds when the choice is between Democrats and a “Republican tea party… out of step with where the American people are.”

I guess the question is……who is more out of step?  I really thought that the Democrats and the Obama administration were more “out of touch” with the American populace, but evidently, the Democrats are trying to make this into a Tea Party thing.  The Tea Party folks are obviously extremist (as Biden et al would claim) despite the fact that they are a multi-racial, independent group of folks just tired of Washington BS.

Biden’s remarks are just one of many declaring war on average Americans who are fed up with Washington types, defict spending and runaway federal government.  The Tea Party isn’t Republican.  It represents the first time in many years that ordinary Americans have asserted themselves against the ridiculous crap going on in DC.  Biden and his liberal ilk are making a serious mistake by alienating these people.  But I always love it when ole Joe opens his yap.  It’s better for us.

Liberals Getting Sloppier (Yes, it’s possible!)

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4gL2WEnjVY&feature=email]

The biggest hindrance to Democracy is untruth.  Especially when we are supposed to be able to rely on human decency and our media for information and objective opinion.  If liberals weren’t so sloppy at the lies they tell and tricks they pull, they could pose a real danger to our freedom.

The first example involved a “man” by the name of David Weigel who showed up at a political event held for Kentucky.  He posed as a racist Republican who was a supporter of Rand Paul.  But when the cameramen got word of his trick from the other side (members supporting the liberal actually bragged about what he was doing), the cameraman had a conversation with him both as a Rand Paul supporter and then caught him marching and chanting for the liberal later on that day.

With so much emphasis liberals have placed on the Tea Party (not to mention the NAACP), you would think this story would show up somewhere on CNN.  Yes, I know millions of Americans are out of work, losing their homes, and Michelle is enjoying one heck of a taxpayer-funded getaway to Spain, but you’d think after all that has happened with regard to the Tea Party, they’d have time for such raw footage.

Rick Sanchez of CNN has the time to entertain a piece of “raw” video on Sarah Palin which was brought to light by an Alaskan blogger who has been obsessed with the Governor for the past three years.

The video — which Palin herself has responded to on Facebook today — depicts Palin “rolling her eyes” at a “teacher” by the name of Kathleen Gustafson.  The “teacher” turned out to be a “theater tech” and sits on the Board of Directors of the town’s local “Family Planning Clinic.”

It’s funny knowing this and then listen to her begin by telling Palin she swore on her “precious Bible” to serve the state then implied that Palin left for personal gain.  If she’s a board-member of a Family Planning Clinic and uses the Bible in such an angry context, I find it hard to believe Ms. Gustafson was a Palin supporter to begin with.

Then take into consideration that Gustafson lives in the same town of Homer, Alaska as Shannyn Moore does.  Shannyn Moore is President of the Palin Derangement Syndrome Society.  For years, she’s “investigated” the Governor (falsely said Palin was under investigation by the FBI and cried victim when Palin’s attorney threatened lawsuit for it) and has entertained Levi Johnston.  We all know by now how credible he turned out to be.

C’mon liberals!  Are we really supposed to believe that this woman — an unhinged lefty — was standing up and holding a sign that said “Worst Governor Ever!” and happened to be accompanied by her own cameraman and just happens to live in the same town as Shannyn Moore (population of Homer is just over 5,000) all by coincidence?

Immediately Shannyn Moore posted two articles on this, uploaded the video to youtube, copied and pasted her article to the Huffington Post (which drew over 10,000 comments from other lefties suffering from Palin Derangement Syndrome) and sent it to CNN.

This is the same woman who appeared on “Countdown” with Keith Olbermann where she was introduced to his regular 12 viewers.

The indignant “teacher” is not very impressive.  It is a well-documented fact that Palin-haters in Alaska filed numerous ethics violations costing taxpayers $2M and Palin $500K in defense fees.  She resigned to dis-empower them and give Alaska a Governor who could devote the time to them without those interruptions.  Somehow the “teacher” is unable to comprehend this and yet she wants us to believe that parents trust her with guiding their children?

This was Shannyn Moore’s weakest attempt at investigative blogging as it took conservative bloggers about three minutes to solve this.  The homely “Girl from Homer” is getting desperate.

CNN should report these developments but I won’t hold my breath.

***Update***

As noted by “jerry” who I also believe is posing as “robert” on other conservative blogs, Gustafson does work for a school.  Though the title is “theater tech” as I stated before (hardly the reading-writing-arithmetic type).  And “jerry” denies Ms. Gustafson being President of the local family planning facility but does acknowledge she sits on the board.

Since Shannyn Moore fought so hard for her right to report rumors when she was going around telling others that Palin was being investigated by the FBI, I have appropriately changed the paragraphs which questioned Gustafson’s teaching credentials.

Lastly, she injected herself into the public arena by protesting and certainly should be subjected to the same scrutiny and specificity as Joe-the-Plumber was.

My Thoughts on the Sherrod Controversy

Man oh man, the media is eating this up now.  While the public seems to be placing blame where it is due the most in this case — obviously with the White House — I feel emphasis coming from most in the MSM in disparaging Andrew Breitbart and Fox News.

I don’t have an exact re-cap of all the events leading up to the first mention of it on Fox.  I am currently looking into that because of all the accounts I keep hearing on Fox and throughout the day on talk radio, Fox had not even mentioned it until AFTER the White House got word of it and persuaded her to resign by warning her about the big scary Fox and Glenn Beck which was headed her way.

I cannot prove anything but something stinks here.

Yes, Breitbart, Fox, The White House, all owe an apology to Sherrod.  However; Ann Coulter mentioned on Hannity last night that she believed Breitbart was “set up.”  I agree.  However; it still does not excuse Breitbart (whom I adore and shall remain a loyalist to biggovernment.com) from failing to doublecheck the entirety of the speech.

Still, I find it a little odd that in the same week the NAACP passes a ridiculous resolution against the “racist elements” of the Tea Party with specificity (I am still waiting for their resolution against Harry Reid), a mysterious videotape appears.

How about this?  Someone from the other side pieces this together and sends it to Breitbart.  He plays it, Sherrod gets fired because afterall, this administration never investigates anything before rendering opinion  (like the AZ immigration law and Obama saying the Cambridge police acted “stupidly”), the truth then comes out and Sherrod gets to attack Brietbart and Fox for a couple of weeks.

I wouldn’t mention it — because I truly hate conspiracy theories — but it is odd that Fox has been a target of the administration from the get-go and the three major networks have all lost millions of viewers within the last year alone while Fox continues to grow and THIS surfaces months before a midterm election.

In the end, we know the Obama administration acts “stupidly” all the time with rushing to judgment.  But unfortunately, with the rest of the media in his corner, Fox will get the biggest beating over this.

It’s just a theory.  However; I feel it in my bones that we have not heard the end of this and there is indeed one more person out there to surface.
