Darrell Issa puts the smackdown on Rahm Emanuel

This was released a short while ago and for some reason, the MSM is not yet reporting it.

Congressman Darrell Issa of CA sent a charming letter today to Rahm Emanuel.  In response to a few Republican comments on the effectiveness of the stimulus, Emanuel orchestrated several threatening letters to the House & Senate members by implying that they would be cut off from their respective state’s portion of the stimulus funds.  An example:

On Sunday, Arizona Senator Jon Kyl publicly questioned whether the stimulus is working and stated that he wants to cancel projects that aren’t presently underway. I believe the stimulus has been very effective in creating job opportunities throughout the country. However, if you prefer to forfeit the money we are making available to your state, as Senator Kyl suggests, please let me know..

I think that’s fine.  The Republican members of Congress have no problem returning that money to the market and allowing us to decide how much of it we want so we can work for it.

However; the stimulus and the metaphorical purse it rests in is being controlled by people who want to force its distribution.  So while they hold it, they are letting it known that the distribution is their ballgame, so if you don’t play by their rules and contribute to their ideology, you’re going to suffer.  So, why not release it back into the economy so that we can decide where it goes as Americans?

Making a deal with the Devil would be more appealing.

Issa writes:

“I and others have dared to bring these facts to the attention of President Obama, the Congress and the American people,” Issa wrote.  “You’ve unfortunately reacted by once again resorting to the playbook of the Chicago political machine.”

Amen!  For the full letter, go right the press release posted on Drudge.

Look for his direct rebuttal to the administration’s promise to stop unemployment from reaching 8%.
