How to Plan a 6-Days Lava Tour?

Lava Tour Itinerary for 6 Days

Day 2: Transfer to Kolakham via Changey Falls

After having your breakfast, then start from Lava and proceed towards Kolakham. On the way, stop at Changey Fall to sooth your senses by listening to the alluring sound of Changey Waterfall, with 900ft trek. Seeing the wonderful waterfall gushing down from high above and disappearing into the lush foliage below can be quite mesmerizing and captivating. After seeing this majestic waterfall, head towards your homestay. When you reach Kolakham, you are free to rest for the day or explore the village on foot. Overnight stay at Kolakham.

Day 3: Transfer to Rishop via Neora Valley National Park

After spending a joyful night at Kolakham, on day 3, get ready to be transferred to Rishop. It will be a journey of around 1 hour to cover an approximate road distance of 19 km. The route towards Rishop is full of pictorial sights and the surreal view of Himalayan peaks form Rishop Viewpoint will leave you mesmerized. On your way to Rishop, visit Lava Monastery and Neora Valley National Park. It will be a memorable journey through the winding road of Himalaya from Lava to Neora Valley National Park. From Lava, it will take around 15 minutes to cover an approximate road distance of 5km.

Neora Valley National Park is the land of elegant Red Panda in the pristine undisturbed natural habitat with rugged inaccessible hilly terrain. The rich flora and fauna of Neora Valley National Park makes it a paradise for nature and wildlife photography. You can also capture the captivating panorama of the Kanchendzonga range, which lies in the backdrop of this national park. Neora Valley National Park is also a paradise for bird watchers. There are about 265 species of birds in this park. It is the best place to spot the rare species Rusty Bellied Shortwing Myanahs, Swallows, Flycatchers and Parakeets are common.

After basking in the glory of Mother Nature, head towards Rishop where the rooms of the homestay are already booked by us. After arriving at the homestay, you are free for the rest of the day to relax. Overnight stay at Rishop.

Day 4: Transfer to Lolegaon & Sightseeing

Breakfast at the hotel and after breakfast start your 1 hr 30mins journey towards Lolegaon. Reach Lolegaon after covering approx 30km and explore the sightseeing places around Lolegaon, the famous one being The Canopy Walk. It's a 180-meter-long hanging wooden tree-top bridge that goes through the dense jungle. The bridge slowly rises in height and you will find yourself walking through the tree tops amidst dense forest, making you feel ecstatic and a part of nature. At the centre of the village, there is a flat land opposite to the Eco-Park where you can relax and observe nature, Lolegaon viewpoint which offers a panoramic view of Neora Valley National Park and Mt Kanchenjunga. After reaching the homestay, check-in. After freshening up you are free for the rest of the day to relax and take a stroll around the homestay. Surrounded by pine tree, cypress forest and orchids Lolegaon is a treat for the eyes of the nature lover. Overnight stay at Lolegaon.

Day 5: Transfer to Kalimpong & Sightseeing

After having breakfast, now its time to start for Kalimpong. Kalimpong is a historical destination on the foothills of the Himalayas at an elevation of 1243 meters / 4078 feet. Your journey towards this buzzing town will be full of serene sights of lofty green mountains and Roaring River Teesta. On your way, you will cover Durpin Dara Hills there is a Tibetan monastery located on the Durpin hill, Durpin Monastery. From the upper terrace of the monastery, you get magnificent views of Kalimpong town with Kanchenjunga in the background, Dello Hills an 8-acre lush parkland with manicured flower gardens and several view points with breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga, Hanuman Mandir perched on the hill a short hike towards this temple offers a serene and picturesque view of the Kanchenjunga and on a sunny day neighboring state of Sikkim and the surrounding landscapes of lava and kafer hills is also clearly visible, Pine view Cactus Nursery it has a great collections of cactus and ornamental plants.

Thereafter check into the hotel. After freshening up you have the rest of the day to yourself. Overnight stay at Kalimpong.
